Applications
Lightpeak transceiver IC is the engine of Optical Module. It drives the laser to form a high speed light signal. The light is coupled to the fiber and transmitted to another end where the light is coupled to the Photo Diode (PD). Then the light peak transceiver IC will convert the light signal back to electrical signal.
It is a dual transceiver IC originally intended for the Light Peak interconnect technology. It contains two independent transceivers supporting full duplex data rates of 10Gbps. You can use one channel for SFP+ AOC appplication. You can use both channel for Thunderbolt, USB-C AOC application. In the meantime, you can use two chips to form 4*10G for QSFP+ AOC applications.
This IC had been assembled to lightpeak Optical module which was used in Sony Vaio Z laptop series. You can find this IC in Sumitomo and Corning's Thunderbolt AOC. This IC is a proven product and in mass production.
